Listen between the lines

Listen between the lines

Listening is the key to good communication. Put it into practice with this short exercise

"When you listen well you are listening to yourself as well as them, especially to your reactions, thoughts, patterns and so on."  - Sharon Salzberg

Next time you speak to someone…

  1. Try and be aware of what you are saying, communicating carefully what you need to
  2. Listen between the lines of what you are hearing - what is going on for the other person?
  3. Gauge your response
  4. Go one step further… use it for a greater good

Contribute to the Collective Positive Momentum

Notice anything positive through your awareness and offer the energy you have created by listening between the lines to a greater good.

Whenever we think, speak or act with a positive intention, we generate positive energy in the world. This energy can be directed towards something worthwhile.
You could offer it to…

… the recovery of a friend/family member who is sick

… all people affected in the recent floods in the UK and in India

… create more peace and harmony in the world

… FDCW, to continue to spread these much needed educational programmes and tools

… something else that touches you

And next time you listen between the lines, offer the positive energy out and...
