SUMMARY:A Mindful Heart - Sunday in person Community Meditations
DESCRIPTION:About the Sessions\nJoin a wonderful team of facilitators  for a series of Meditations and meaningful discussions organized by Jamyang Buddhist  Centre in Leeds (UK). \nThis series is structured into 1 hour  sessions and is offered on Sundays at 10:30 am GMT. \nFrom September 2026 to February 2027 the Sunday community meditations will be focusing on ‘A Mindful Heart’. \nInspired by the Creating Compassionate Cultures program (“CCC”) by Pam Cayton\, and developed by the Foundation for Developing Compassion and Wisdom. Grounded in three core pathways of learning: Knowledge\, Strength\, and Compassion. These pathways guide you towards a happier\, more meaningful life by fostering inner growth and a warmer connection with others. \nDesigned to help you develop a deeper understanding of how the mind works. The aim is to gradually let go of destructive patterns of thought and behaviour while cultivating a healthy sense of self-confidence and a deep\, compassionate connection with others. \nYou are invited to reflect on your attitudes\, perceptions\, and emotional patterns. By exploring the workings of our own minds and the nature of our interdependence with others and the world around us\, we begin to see how deeply connected our inner and outer realities truly are. We examine both logical and scientific perspectives on the nature of the self and our relationships with others. \nWhy joining\nAre you keen to work on your well-being and want to connect with others trying to make their life a little better for themselves and those around them?  \nEach hour-long gathering begins with a soothing meditation to calm your mind\, followed by an inspiring discussion on on a way of being that enriches your everyday life such as interconnection\, empathy\, compassion… We then dive into a focused meditation designed to help you embrace that way of being fully. \nWrap up your morning with a cup of tea and friendly conversation in a welcoming\, relaxed atmosphere.  \nMeet us every Sunday at 10:30 AM and start your week feeling refreshed\, connected\, and inspired. \n\nOpen to all\, beginners and experienced students alike!  No registration required\, absolutely everyone welcome. \n\nThis is the Schedule and Themes of the sessions :\n\nSeptember 2026 \n6th and 13th: The Pursuit of Happiness \n20th and 27th: Understanding how things exist \nOctober 2026: \n4th and 11th: Developing Healthy Self Confidence \n18th and 25th: Compassion – Opening the heart \nNovember 2026: \n1st and 8th: Mindfulness\, reflection and critical thinking \n15th and 22nd: Mindful intention – what do I really want \n29th: Interconnection (week 1) \nDecember 2026: \n6th: Interconnection (week 2) \n13th and 20th: Embracing Change \nJanuary 2027: \n10th and 17th: Perception \n24th and 31st Transforming harmful emotions \nFebruary 2027: \n7th and 14th: Empathy \n21st and 28th: Cultivating Compassion \n\n\n\n\nHow to Join \n\n\n\n\n\n\nIn Person on Sundays 10:30 to 11:30 with coffee / chat in the café afterwards until 12:00pm. \n\nFor more information please visit the Jamyang Leeds Centre event calendar \nCost\nThis program is offered by donation. Participants take turns listening without giving advice\, interrupting\, or debating\, and each speaker feels fully heard and understood. \nThe practice is practical and applicable to everyday conversations\, and when navigating difficult conversations. The Empathy Circle practice not only hones empathy but also fosters a range of valuable skills\, such as communication and conflict management skills\, making it a powerful tool for personal growth\, conflict resolutions and meaningful dialogue. \nThe Empathy Circle was developed by Edwin Rutsch\, founder and director of The Empathy Center\, based on the work of psychologist Carl Rogers. The four core values of the Empathy Circle are empathy\, mutuality\, openness and caring \nIf you want to know more about the Empathy Circles\, please make sure to check Maria and Janna’s presentation on the 2026 Empathy Summit .
