Now in 4 languages\, she’s trained facilitators in 15 countries\, including medical and healthcare professionals\, therapists\, and social workers for 5 universities and 4 hospitals. \nBased on Universal Education for Compassion and Wisdom principles\, Dekyi-Lee offered this program in collaboration with the University of Toronto and Masters Program at the University of Florence\, Italy. DESCRIPTION:Overview\nBuilding Inner Strength: 16 Guidelines for Life workshops are based on a set of values which aim to encourage positive qualities in our life. They help us to change how we think\, how we act\, how we relate to others and how we find meaning. \nIt provides practical tools for a more meaningful\, fulfilled life. The idea is simple: to change the way we experience the world\, we transform the way we think\, act\, and relate to others to find meaning. \nThe Building Inner Strength: 16 Guidelines Level 2  expands the experience of the 16 Guidelines’ potential through guided discussions\, meditations\, experiential activities\, and reflection practices. \nLed by two experienced  16G facilitators: Kitty D’Costa and Claudia van Zuiden\, this workshop offers: \n\nA deeper understanding of the philosophical foundations of the 16 Guidelines.\nAn exploration of mindfulness—both in theory and in practice.\nInsight into the methodologies that underpin the 16G reflections\, experiential tools\, and creative activities.\nAn honest look at the “shadow side” of the Guidelines and how to work with it skillfully.\nOpportunities to connect with other 16G practitioners\, exchange ideas\, and share experiences at greater depth.\nA secular\, universal framework that focuses on human values rather than religious doctrine.\nPractical inspiration to move beyond theory and take meaningful action for your community and the environment.\n\nWho is the course for?\nThose who have completed L1 and want to deepen and increase their experience and knowledge of the Guidelines and shadow side. \nLevel 2 encourages you to explore the 16 Guidelines and Four Wisdom Themes in greater depth\, helping you uncover new possibilities for transforming habits\, relationships\, and community engagement. DESCRIPTION:About this course\nIn this experiential course  you will reflect on your motivations\, intentions\, values and practices in order to contribute to a secular\, inclusive\, universal and embodied practice. \nDiscussions will surround the ancient set of 16 guidelines inspired by leaders committed to a culture that proposes mindful thought\, values\, relations and compassion-in-action  This course highlights how individuals may embody mindful practices in the everyday. Drawing from an ancient wisdom tradition\, the 16 Guidelines proposes a palette of secular options that cultivate states of the embodied mind.  These guidelines can be integrated into everyday life as a secular practice to optimize one’s human potential as well as to promote a civil society. These include states of mind such as: compassion\, kindness\, authentic speech etc. \nWhat you’ll learn:\n\nUnderstand the concept of the embodied mind.\nInterpret the ancient document known as the 16 Guidelines both historically and in its contemporary application and usage.\nDevelop your own personal guidelines that will provide the scaffolding of your own embodied practice.\n\nSchedule:\nThis course is delivered on Mondays\, in 4 online sessions from November 17\, 2025 – December 8\, 2025\, with Real Time Meetings from 10 AM – 13:00 PM ( local time) \n\nSchedule: Mon\, 10 am-1 pm\, Nov 17\, 24\, Dec 1\, 8\n\nStudents must attend all sessions to complete the course.
