From Wendy
It is a huge privilege working on the 16G with people from a range of different cultures and backgrounds. I actively aspire to live by the ethics at the root of the 16G – developing a good heart and a wise mind. Having met Lama Yeshe in 1977 I was inspired by his vision of Universal Education and as a result I trained as a teacher in order to try to incorporate some of his ideas into mainstream classrooms.
I have over 30 years experience working in education – as a teacher, university lecturer, local education authority adviser and consultant specialising in religious education and diversity issues. This provided me with skills and passion to develop, deliver and oversee training programmes so I thrive on the sharing involved in facilitating 16G workshops and developing UE materials. It has been a joy to be involved in the development of UE since 2004 and also as a Board member.
On a personal level I have benefited enormously from a daily meditation practice and many retreats. The 16G help deepen my self-awareness and understanding of transformative methods. I see and feel their deep effect on myself and others and love exploring how the universal values embodied in the 16G programme can bring opportunities for personal development, dialogue and peaceful coexistence.
