About the Course

The 16 Guidelines Meditations Course is a secular programme developed by the Foundation for Developing Compassion and Wisdom (FDCW) and reviewed by the FPMT Education Services Department. This course contains 16 x 1 hour sessions for facilitators to lead with their groups, with time for reflection, discussion and meditation.

Inspired by Lama Zopa Rinpoche’s vision for Universal Education, this course aims to bring happiness, solve problems, and foster a better world through practical and accessible meditative practices.

The course focuses on cultivating positive inner qualities that transform how we relate to ourselves and others. It is designed to be adaptable for different contexts, allowing facilitators to tailor the experience to their specific audience.

Building Inner Strength: Core Values for a Happy Life

For those looking to go deeper into the 16 Guidelines to support the deliverance of the 16 Guidelines Course, we recommend the Building Inner Strength self-paced online course.

This comprehensive course helps facilitators develop a deeper understanding of the 16 Guidelines through guided audio meditations, reflections, and practical exercises – enhancing your ability to lead meaningful sessions with your groups.

By developing your own relationship with these values and practices, you’ll be better equipped to share their transformative power with others in your community.

Ven Gonpo has beautifully recorded all 16 meditations, along with an introduction and a main practice for each guideline. Additionally, he has recorded three settling practices—Body Awareness, Counting the Breath, and Finger Breathing—to help participants ground themselves before each session.

Experiencing these recordings in advance allows you to connect more fully with the content, making it easier to guide others with confidence and authenticity. By listening beforehand, you’ll be better prepared to create a meaningful and supportive environment for your group.
